How a commission runs

Our approach

Each project follows a clear process, from the initial consultation and survey through to design, preparation, installation and aftercare.

Four stages, the same four every time: survey and planning, quotation and design, preparation, fitting. The full process, stage by stage

The standard

In plain terms

Every project carries our name. It is set out, levelled, plumb, fitted and finished with the same care in the details you see and the ones you don't. It should look right, feel right and be built to last.

Who does the work

Accountability

Structure & Style manages each project from initial survey and design through to installation and aftercare, taking responsibility for the work and the finished result throughout.

Before anything is ordered

Design

Every project begins with a measured survey and a clear, itemised quotation. Once the project is agreed, the design is developed as required, with drawings and elevations provided for review before anything is ordered or put into production. Up to two rounds of revisions are included.

Materials, chosen for the project

Materials

Materials and finishes are selected around the design, how the furniture will be used and the look you want to achieve. From painted and decorative boards to natural wood veneers, each specification is chosen for the project rather than applied as a standard formula.

The range, the finishes and the reasoning

What to expect while we work

In your home

We understand that most of our work takes place in occupied homes, so protecting the property and keeping disruption to a minimum is part of every project.

Floors and surrounding areas are protected before work begins, with dust extraction used throughout cutting and installation. Where possible, cutting is carried out outside or in a designated work area.

The workspace is kept organised and tidied at the end of each day, with waste and off-cuts removed on completion. Where a property is managed, we coordinate access, working hours, deliveries and any required documentation with the building or managing agent before work begins.

Once the work is finished

Afterwards

Our work is covered for 2 years on installation and workmanship and 10 years on the structure and joinery, with manufacturer warranties applying to hinges, runners and other moving hardware.

If doors or other moving parts require adjustment within the 2-year aftercare period, we come back and take care of them. Care guidance for the materials and finishes used is provided on completion.
